NIGHT CINEMA

On the warm summer evenings of August, Night Cinema returns to bring film lovers a diverse selection of movies across various locations in Ida-Viru County—from manor yards to lighthouses and city centers.

This year, the cinema evenings will focus primarily on Estonian films, with a special emphasis on water-themed movies, fitting for a region surrounded by three bodies of water. We are also proud to showcase achievements from our southern neighbors with two evenings featuring the animated film “Flow with the Current”, which won both a Golden Globe and an Oscar in the animation category.

In addition, the program pays tribute to sports, as Tallinn is the European Capital of Sport 2025. We will show the recent documentary “Anett” about Estonian tennis star Anett Kontaveit. For fans of film classics, we present the legendary motorsport feature film “Dangerous Curves”, directed by Kaljo Kiisk from Ida-Viru County.

Alongside the classics, the program also includes the 2024 moving drama “Fränk”, a notable Estonian film from the younger generation that sparks discussions on painful yet important social topics.
