Ida-Viru is easily accessible by car, bus, train, bicycle and caravan. The location of Ida-Virumaa is good, because we are 2 hours’ drive from the Estonian capital Tallinn, where the international airport is located, and 1.5 hours’ drive from the university town of Tartu. Estonian cities have a good bus connection with Jõhvi and Narva, as well as a good train connection with Tallinn.
Convenient coaches from both the Tallinn and Tartu coach stations travel to Ida-Viru County. Most coaches departing from Tallinn and Tartu to Ida-Viru County stop in major towns Jõhvi, Sillamäe and Narva. Tallinn coaches also stop in Kohtla-Järve. You can find bus routes here.
